Amicus Curiae
Through its Amicus Curiae Committee, the New Jersey Association for Justice strives to maintain a high profile in the New Jersey Appellate and Supreme courts by promoting, through advocacy, the rights of individuals and the goals of the membership.
The Amicus Curiae Committee promptly reviews the several dozen requests received annually, from New Jersey Association for Justice members or others seeking assistance, to determine the appropriateness for a New Jersey Association for Justice role and petitions the Court for participation on those they have agreed to participate in. The Committee identifies a member to write the brief noting that very short timelines are often necessary.
The Committee Co-Chairs make a detailed annual report on the number of requests and responses to the Board of Governors and membership.
